A holiday in Mexico marked the first chapter in the love story of Lucy Hole and Morgan Roberts; eight years later the couple sealed their commitment to each other in front of 139 friends and family members at Sant Ffraed House.

Where did you get married?

Sant Ffraed House by Oldwalls

What attracted you to the venue?

We used to go there for special occasions with Morgan’s grandfather Peter when it was the restaurant Llansantffraed. Sadly, Peter is no longer with us, and when we heard it was going to be a wedding venue, we changed our plans so that we could get married there. It felt special to be celebrating in a place he used to enjoy.

The venue is also incredible! From the interiors of the main house to the new K room, everything just oozed luxury

One of our favourite rooms was the honeymoon suite. It had a room called the reflection lounge with a mini dance floor and juke box where we could go and reflect on the day. It was so lovely.

What was your wedding theme?

We went for black tie, which really suited the venue. Our florals were whites and greenery, and our bridesmaids were in Oyster.

What did you wear? Tell us about your gown…

I wore a beautiful, beaded dress made by With Love from Australia, which I found in The White Collection at Portishead.

It had a subtle sparkle to it, plunging low back and an incredible train, hand beaded with petals. It was also breast feeding-friendly, which was great as our daughter Penelope was eight months old.

How did you feel when you first saw him at the altar?

I was excited and nervous. As soon as I saw him at the end of the altar I instantly relaxed.

Tell us about your bridesmaids, who were they?

I had 9 bridesmaids. My maid of honour, was my sister Amy. Then I had my three cousins, Alice, Vicky and Hannah. My three best friends from school, Hayley, Jess and Charlotte, and Morgans nieces Kia and Ava.

I also had four flower girls and three-page boys.

What was your first dance song?

Ed Sheeran, Tenerife Sea

How did you entertain your guests?

We hired The Function Band for the wedding reception. They were incredible! They sang Beyoncé’s Love on Top as everybody settled in and continued to perform during the different courses.

When we weren’t eating, we were dancing to the songs, it was a great party.

What’s your recommendation to future couples getting married?

Relax and try not to stress. The team at Sant Ffraed House are so helpful, and if you have any questions, there’s always someone available to help. Looking back on the wedding, the entire team contributed to what was the most perfect day.

The team couldn’t do enough for us, the place is so well run.
