How did you first meet?

We first knew of each other when we were 12 in school, in the same friendship group. Curt made the first move when we were about 15 by asking to have a go of my surfboard down rest bay beach, which I immediately said YES after having a major crush on him. Which led to many dates after!

How long were you together before you proposed? How did you propose?

He finally asked me to be in girlfriend in our local kebab shop after a night out in Porthcawl when we were 16/17 and we have been together ever since! He proposed to me September 2020 after being together for 10 years.

It was lockdown & the restaurants had just opened back up, so we made a big fuss of booking our favourite restaurant and got all dressed up as we hadn’t been on a date night for months. Little did I know that he took the day off work to create a fairy light set up in our back garden of our very first home together to propose to me. He said he left his wallet in the house, so we had to run in to get it. As he led me out the garden, I just knew this was it. He had a photographer hiding in the garage to capture this special moment. Later that night he planned for our favourite pub to deliver our favourite meal which we sat & ate under the fairy lights celebrating. The next day I had planned a housewarming party with all our close friends & family as we were also allowed to meet up with 30 people outside. Little did I know I planned my own engagement party!

My dress was my dream!!

I knew I wanted something extra, it was New Year’s Eve after all. I knew I wanted sleeves as it was winter & a slit in it as I love a good pair of shoes. I wanted a corset to suck me in, in all the right places which some glitz & glam. I actually found my wedding shoes in Bicester village from Jimmy Chou which were discounted! For the evening I changed into all white doc martins to be able to dance the night away!

Was it your dress what you had in mind?

Funny enough I saved my dress on Instagram about 5 times over the previous 2 years so I just knew I needed to try it on. It was the first one I tried on & I said yes straight away. I did have custom sleeves made to make it winter appropriate.

How did your dress make you feel?

The most beautiful I had ever felt. It fit me like a glove & I wouldn’t change a single thing. I was lucky enough to wear my wedding dress another 5 times after the wedding due to becoming such good friends with our photographers they asked us to be models for shoots which we added too our wedding photo collection.

Where did you get the suits from and what was the style like?

Curt bought his suit & we hired the rest of the grooms party from Formal Hire. They were in black tux, very classy and suited the theme well. We added real green bow ties to the groomsmen to compliment the bridesmaids’ dresses. Curt went for a jazzy patterned velvet tux that went amazing with my dress.

How did you feel when you first saw him at the altar?

I had dreamed of this moment since the day I met him (16 years ago) I was so nervous, but it just felt right. It was like tunnel vision; I didn’t hear a thing or see a single person in that room it was just him. I couldn’t stop smiling my face was aching!

Tell us about your bridesmaids, who were they and where did you get the dresses from?

What was the cake like?

Well I walked into my appointment wanting a plain white 3 tier cake & I was out with with a white 3 tier cake that had an acrylic stand with flowers, pampas, fairy lights, gold flakes, sparklers the lot! We went skiing a few days after our wedding as it’s one of our favourite holidays together. We went to Sierra Nevada in Spain and stayed in the most stunning hotel El Lodge. We needed this time to just take in what had just happened the prefect way to start our journey as Husband & Wife.
