Opera superstar tied the knot to Prince of Wales’ former harpist yesterday at his beloved Fairyhill.

Sir Bryn Terfel Jones, CBE ties the knot to professional harpist Hannah Stone on Friday 26th July 2019, at South Wales wedding venue, Fairyhill.

Hannah Stone, formally the official harpist to The Prince of Wales from 2011 – 2015 said ‘I do’ to the Welsh bass-baritone legend at the Caersalem Newedd Bapist Church in Swansea followed by a beautiful celebration at Fairyhill, the iconic grade two listed Georgian property based on the Gower Peninsula which has recently been transformed into one of Wales’ finest exclusive wedding venues.

Sir Bryn said: “Today has been extremely special, marrying the love of my life in such a beautiful setting with all our nearest and dearest around us.”

Fairyhill was the hotel Sir Bryn Terfel Jones, CBE stayed at back in 1990 when recording his first big opera, Adriana LeCouvreur with world-famous classical singers Luciano Pavarotti and Joan Sutherland.

Sir Bryn continued: “I was told I would be staying at the Fairyhill hotel on Gower, when I arrived I was advised Dame Joan requested the pleasure of my company on the garden terrace. I headed to the garden and to my delighted surprise there was, Dame Joan and Richard Bonynge drinking tea with none other than Luciano Pavarotti! I couldn’t believe I would be performing alongside the world’s greatest tenor.

Every evening after recording we would all enjoy stunning food together in Fairyhill’s restaurant. That was my initiation into the world of classical music. To mingle on the very same terrace with my beautiful new wife by my side, on our wedding day, is simply magical.”

The Fairyhill ceremony and reception hosted 150 close friends and family of the newlyweds. Guests were treated to the Taittinger champagne, the finest malt Welsh whisky by Welsh distillery Penderyn and lavished with a five-course wedding breakfast by Fairyhill’s critically acclaimed head chef, Chris Keenan.
